Having been a fan of Derrin's music for a few years now, I've been eagerly awaiting this album and I was certainly not disappointed.
From the opening seconds of the first track, Universe Demands, my foot was tapping, my head bobbing. The track has all the power and presence of the live performances of it I've seen which I find are rarely carried over to album recordings for most artists. This feeling continues right through until the end of the album, without any break.
With some great bass work, some impressive drumming and of course Derrin's awesome guitar work and vocals, this album really delivers. Highlights for me are My Hurricane, possibly the finest track I've heard form any artist in the last few years, which sweeps you through a fantastic solo that I never want to end, Where Two Men Go Tonight, and the beautiful All The Faces.
This album grabs you, pulls you in and doesn't let go. I can't see this being far from my stereo for quite some time.
Basically, you need this album. I want music to move me, and this does, everytime.
Wonderful.
