I really enjoyed this part of the Roger Brook saga. Following a duel with a Venetian diplomat that he is meant to charm, Roger flees the country and travels to India to take in the sights. This time he has picked on the wrong man, however, and he ends up in a mortal struggle with a James Bond-esque villain that takes him all over the world. The plot is cracking with lots of twists, while the historical details is top notch as usual.
Something i love about the series is how Roger is portrayed sympathetically but without hiding his conceited views about the lower classes. This makes for a much more realistic and 3 dimensional character.
