Amazing book 6 July 2009
Really enjoyed this book.It is really easy to read . I found it difficult to put it down , I have seen Andrew on NLP Resources videos and have read his brilliant article on weight issues but the book is just as witty and shows how rapport is one of the main principles of therapy .
I found his his honesty about therapy not always working refreshing and was pleased that he didnt blame the client .
As another reviewer said he is a good mixture of Bandler and Ericson and of course himself .Would recommend people to read this book and already have !

Andrew Austin review 6 April 2009
I recently purchased Andrew's excellent book - which i know has been out for a while. It is a very very funny book and displays Andrew's incredible effectiveness at applying mainly NLP-based approaches in the most difficult of settings that your average NLP-er would fear to tread. If you have read 'using your brain for a change' by richard bandler - then Andrew's book is of the same stimulating genre. I have also recently attended a training with Andrew and liked his style so much - we have organised a 2-day training with him in Liverpool in July. So really can highly recommend this book and his trainings!

This is an excellent book which I enjoyed and learnt from, from start to finish- possibly not a beginners book, as certainly more would be learnt from some passages if there were to be familiarity of certain techniques. However a significant value of the book is the challenge it makes to the some almost universally accepted conventions in many mental health wards and the choices of `Madication' and dubious value of long term ECT (therapy?) that some patients suffer. This book doesn't claim to have all the answers but it's a step in a good direction. The author regards the book as a footprint - as reader I hope it's the first of several.

his client-centred style borders on the maverick
Andrew's simple and direct client-centered style makes so much sense that it borders on the maverick. Educational. Entertaining. Inspiring. Liberating.

This book is packed with useful information, and there's something about the author's slightly cheeky voice that really made me warm to him. I found the case examples fascinating. Read more
