Product Description

When ex-FBI Special Agent Max McClain discovers several Peruvian orphans have been kidnapped by a Russian mad scientist, he risks it all to save the children's lives. At the same time, the people of his home town of Caroline Springs, Louisiana leave their ordinary way of life in order to sacrificially care for hundreds of evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. You'll be moved when these two events merge into a single, inspirational challenge. With deadly hurricanes, FBI chases, hand-to-hand combat, and twists and turns, this high energy, action-packed novel will keep you turning the pages.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting blend of current day events with a fictional story 9 Sep 2013
By Beleafer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a hurricane story without being a hurricane story. While the setting is Louisiana during and after Katrina and Rita, those events are merely the backdrop for the story. This book is more about caring for people, of forgiveness and self-sacrifice, and living out the Gospel. The international terrorist angle did make things a bit clunky at times as the story didn't move real seamlessly. But it did help reinforce the point - are you willing to have your comfortable life tossed on its head to care for the least of these?
5.0 out of 5 stars Intercountry adoptions with a twist 30 Mar 2013
By Karen - Published on Amazon.com

What happens when you mix orphans scheduled for intercountry fostering and adoption with a hurricane and a mad scientist? This book was enough twists to keep you reading well into the night. It took a while to sort some of the characters out, but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'll defintely be reading it again. It has explicit Christian content, which is accurate and tastefully incorporated into the story. Well done J Barrett. I may well look for more of your books.
