User-friendly would be an understatement 29 Aug 2005
By ScribeGirl - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is put together very well, and is the perfect response to the most commonly heard complaint about the first Quarterlife Crisis book...that being that the problems of the current crop of young adults were laid out well, but no solutions were offered. Think of the first book as an introduction - identifying the phenomenon - and this volume as a Part II that tells in a very user-friendly way how to approach the challenges that loom ahead. Wilner and Stocker clearly spent a good deal of time researching and obtaining firsthand experiences and information from a cross section of the book's intended audience, and this research shows in the practical advice found within the pages of this workbook/resource.

This book will not disappoint you. 29 Aug 2005
By a book guru - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
When I spotted this book, I didn't think it could really help me with my life...there are SO many self-help type books out there...how do you know which one is going to work for you?

I am so glad I decided to order this book. I don't know how the authors managed to cram that much information into less than 300 pages, but they did--in a wonderful way that didn't seem condescending. This book will help you, not make you feel like a loser because you don't know how or where to invest your money. There are great tips on how to meet new people, how to get involved, etc. Even recipes for healthy snacks and meals! The book is broken down into sections (life, work, play, etc), then the authors cover each section with their creative writing, professional opinions, and anecdotes from members of their website. I found that was a really cool idea--it wasn't like other books, where a bunch of experts spew out knowledge, or the authors pretending to sound like they knew what they were talking about...but real life people were included. These authors are also "real life" because they've gone through it to...and they seemed to seek out good professional advice for the book.

Pick it up, you won't be disappointed.

Stellar, concrete advice - and lots of fun! 16 Sep 2005
By Alexandra Levit - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Every college graduate can use a roadmap to life in the real world, but up until now, we've had to rely on vague advice for our parents and older friends. This exceptional book, which addresses everything from figuring out insurance, building lasting friendships post-school, and staying healthy despite the craziness, is one that every twenty-something should read twice. Chock full of expert, insider tips and fun, sometimes quirky exercises, The Quarterlifer's Companion uses a unique approach that's hands on, without a drop of preachiness.
