I don't get much time to read for leisure so was extremely pleased to have picked a winner with this book; the concepts that it explored were wide ranging and interesting, while the characters were well developed and engaging. I only had limited periods during travel to read it and found myself desperately trying to return to it to find out what was going to happen next. I watch a lot of sci-fi films and would love to see this as a movie, it would be spectacular.
For its originality and excellent writing style I give it the top rating of 5 Stars. I will definitely read more by Clive Eaton and am looking forward to Operation Stonehenge. If you love a good story, well told, don't hesitate to read The Pyramid Legacy, you won't regret it. A brilliant book.
I loved Ben the lead character. He was very much the reluctant hero, just a normal guy forced to face his fears in some pretty scary situations. This made a pleasant change from the usual macho man we read about in many novels.
In the beginning I liked Ben's girlfriend Sam, but as the story progressed I rapidly went off her; which can be credited to the authors writing skill.
I have to say the book was long, and in parts it lost me, and I found myself skipping the bits I didn't understand or found boring.
Also I didn't like some of the language used. This is why I've given the book 4 stars instead of the 5 I would like to have given.
Apart from those issues and the rather abrupt ending, I really enjoyed the book and looked forward to continue reading it every chance I got.
I had a gap in between starting the novel and continuing to the end.. I found my mind wandering back to the situation and characters held in limbo in the book and couldn't wait to resume reading. Always the Mark of a good novel.
My only criticism is that in my view the ending left the reader without a fiirm conclusion. I know it is the sign of a good trilogy or series but mightily frustrating for an impatient reader like myself and when the last few pages bring expectations of a result! The author has promised a sequel and I really can't wait! I have already formulated some of my own solutions but as I have incorrectly second guessed lots of things in the first novel I am prepared to be surprised and very much look forward to it.
The story is very interesting, without giving too much away, makes you look at these subjects in a different way.
Looking forward to the next book.
