Product Description

MAKE THE PUNISHMENT FIT THE CRIME.

FBI agent Frank Castle’s final case ends with a literal bang, when a wannabe weapons smuggler is gunned down during a sting operation. But the dead man isn’t just any punk. He’s the son of Howard Saint, the powerful Florida tycoon whose hot-spot nightclub has made him famous, and whose multimillion-dollar money-laundering business has made him as rich—and as ruthless—as any of his gangster clients.

Saint wants payback—with interest—for his boy’s death. And he gets it, by orchestrating a massacre that claims the lives of Frank Castle’s beloved wife and son—and almost kills Castle. But almost doesn’t count. Now Frank Castle—ex–FBI agent, ex–Special Forces commando, ex-husband and father—is canceling his retirement and starting a new career. One that begins with teaching Howard Saint the ultimate lesson: No evil deed goes unpunished.

Punsiher book 23 Mar 2004
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is the written companion to the up comming Punisher film due for release in 16.April.04.

The art is well illustrated as most people will have come to expect from the punsiher. For someone who is just getting into the Punsiher then this is handy to have a read through, although it will completely spoil the film for you.

For those already familiar with the punisher then you may be greatly disapointed with this due to charcters being slightly different or major events taking place in the wrong place e.g. the murder of Frank Castles family in a far to exotic location. (i think Hollywood was getting fed up with comic based films set in New York)

If you can get over some of the plot changes then this is an enjoyablke read and well work taking a look at. But i would wait until the film is releasd and get this to fill the void between cinema and DVD release.

Being a massive fan of the comic book then, first hearing about this move a year ago I have been waiting eagerly for its release. I have to admit this new version of Frank Castle made for the film is up to the standard.
FBI Agent and ex-Delta Frank Castle is one last undercover mission away from taking up the easy life, in the form of a desk job in London, but when it all goes wrong and the son of wealthy Businessman/Gangster Howard Saint is killed in the process things start to go bad. Thinking Frank has finished with undercover work for good, he heads for a family reunion in the Costa Rican Sun. Wanting revenge Howard Saint orders the death of Castle and all his family. Frank is then tormented by the fact he survives this massacre. Castle then returns with only one thing on his mind.

MY ACTIONS ARE NOT VENGENCE, NO NOT VENGENCE! PUNISHMENT!

This is about the closest read you are going to get to the movie although I believe there have even been changes made to the move since this book was written. This is an excellent read weather you are a fan of the character or not. It is full to overflowing with action as well as the odd funny moment. I enjoyed the Golf Course part most of all, you'll have to read it to find out why.

Just wait for the movie 6 Mar 2004
By B. Delong - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
First off, I've been a Punisher fan for years. I bought this book the first day it hit the shelves and read it in one night. I was pleased with the updated version of the Punisher myth. The author has done a good job modernizing and fleshing out the story. The book was well written and fast paced. However, it starts out a little slow and lacks any real character development. One thing that bothered me was the complete lack of character descriptions. Overall, the book had sort of a rushed feel, like they just wanted to get it on the shelves before the movie. I really woundn't recommend this book unless your a diehard fan.
it was great 8 Nov 2009

I have no clue why this was given any bad reviews at all. I actually am a die hard punisher fan and had no problems with the book at all. In some ways I even prefer the book over the movie. I recommend this book to anyone who has seen the movie and recommend the movie to anyone who has read the book. I recommed this to any punisher fan who has time to read it as well.
