deBoard's grasp of behaviour in organisations was way ahead of his time. His insights demonstrated a depth of hidden processes that far too few contemporary leaders understand and know how to manage.

This book is extremely accessible, though perhaps the title turns away some people wanting a more simplistic understanding. This is sad, as there are some remarkably naive models presented by others that get a far more extensive readership simply because of that.

If you want a holiday read that has a powerful punch and you'd probably not pick up during the normal working week, then this is it.

As a novice in the field of organizational psychology, I had my doubts, but It was a treat! Rarely have I found such an eloquent, accessible and remarkably well-argued introduction to a field as this book. I thoroughly recommend it.
