Product Description

Product Description

This book presents a new understanding of the psyche that allows us to safely go on our own inner journey of self-discovery. Through gaining the knowledge contained in the DNA of every cell, which the I Ching calls our "inner truth," we are able to become free of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and stress that are caused by beliefs that contradict that truth. This book reveals the ancient I Ching oracle to be a modern and relevant psychology that not only mirrors to us our true nature, but makes us aware that we are born into a loving Cosmos that fulfills all our needs, when we are open to it.

Based on the authors’ more than fourty years of study with the I Ching, this book shows that our true human nature and potential are only good. Psychic malfunctions, the book clarifies, are created by accepting a diminished, miserly, or even wounded view of ourselves — a view that is traitorous to our true self. These negative views are mostly created through childhood conditioning and early traumas.

The book helps the individual who wants to free himself from emotional suffering and behavioral problems, to find the specific ideas revealed by the I Ching that have blocked the unique expression of his true nature. The book shows the reader how to research these causes, and free the mind, psyche, and body of them with Cosmic help. Through following the methods shown, the person is released from the harm they continuously create.

The Psyche Revealed Through The I Ching shows how, through making use of the I Ching as a teacher and friend, a person can fulfill the most important purpose of his life: to claim and honor his own authenticity and sovereignty. In helping people to know themselves, the authors have continued where Carl G. Jung left off when he described the I Ching as a “mirror to the unconscious.”

5.0 out of 5 stars very beneficial 24 Jun 2010

I used to work as psych RN, quit because I because I became disillusioned about what I saw going on, realized that there is still so much we do not know about the mind, mental health, etc. I took courses towards becoming a therapist, but knew in my heart that I was not getting anything that would really help others. This book is amazing, full of wonderful wisdom. I've learned more from this book than I did in any of the college courses, highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in mental health, and is open minded about the I Ching, another wonderful mental health tool. This compliments western medicine. fills in the gaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars An extraordinarily thoughtful evaluation of the practical, psychological, and spiritual insight 8 July 2010
By Midwest Book Review - Published on
The Psyche Revealed Through the I Ching delves into what the I Ching can reveal about the human psyche and personality. Paths to free oneself from mental maladies such as anxiety, depression, and stress are outlined, as are the origins of nuanced emotions, drives, wishes, and dreams. "The ego would like us to think that the psyche is helplessly subjected to its takeover and domination. However, there are venues through which Cosmic help is given to free us from the ego's control. One of these venues is dreams that warn us of imminent dangers coming either from inside ourselves or from outside. Consulting the I Ching to find inner truth of an actual problem is another." An extraordinarily thoughtful evaluation of the practical, psychological, and spiritual insight that proper application of the I Ching can bring.

5.0 out of 5 stars A tremendous book 2 Mar 2011
By Lee Williams - Published on
This tremendous book contains the most fundamental description of human psychology I have ever read. And even better, it describes the psyche in its relationship to both our inner life and the outer world. Carol Anthony and Hanna Moog have laid out the whole terrain of the self, the ego, and the psyche like a road map. Every page is packed with useful information, which doesn't require familiarity with the I Ching. Anyone who wants a clear understanding of how the ego accomplishes its deception and how it manifests in our awareness will like this book. Other authors have written volumes on this weighty subject, but I've never seen one with the depth and brevity of this book. Every clinical psychologist and counsellor would benefit by reading this book. In fact, read it twice. But the beauty of this book is that it is not a textbook - it is written in a friendly voice that can be easily understood by anyone interested in self-understanding, regardless of his or her background.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and significant 8 Mar 2011
By S. Sanfilippo - Published on
Unlike the DSMIV, The Psyche Revealed Through the I Ching does not label people - it gets to the roots of all psychological distress. It takes the introspective reader on a provocative tour of how the ego creates fear, separation and compromised authenticity. It also provides ways to confront and dislodge the subconscious obstacles that stand in the way of our natural joy and wholeness. If you want to realize a more meaningful and expanded life, this book offers a refuge of discovery. I have read this transformative blessing of a book from cover to cover again and again, and each time I learn more. Highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good! 7 Jun 2014

I have been seeking "The Truth" for 41 years, studied and practiced so many philosophies and "Ways" including many, many I Ching interpretations. I have all of Carol's books and started reading them in 1982. I've read different reviews of this author saying they had read most of her books and found them confusing. If they would just look at her works from the past up to now from a different view, they will see that her work is an expression of her personal self development over time. I've found great wisdom in not only her method, but her non-feudal understanding of the I Ching. One will not find this view in any other interpretation. It takes time to develop confidence in the Teacher of the I Ching, but with patience, courage and sincerity, you will begin to find your true self.
