I have all parts of this trilogy and my interest lay in Walkens performance (as Gabriel) and how his character develops as the storyline unfolded.

In Prophecy The Ascent the cinematography allowed for slicker execution of stunts, dramatics and scene changes. It was comical to see Walken playing a down-and-out who just happened to be there when he was needed. His sarcasm was all the more convincing and contrasted nicely with his 'pearls of wisdom'as he wrestled with the afterthoughts of the Angel he once was. The story line in Part 1 & 2 transists very smoothly into The Ascent.

An entertaining movie even if the final battle was a little disapointing in all its drama. I give this movie full marks despite this, because of how it plays out Walkens complex character to realization of his Faith again at the very end.

All in all a decent watch with a moral to the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great film 12 Nov 2013

It had been years since I saw this film and I wondered if it still stood up, I'm pleased to say it did! Like the other 2 films before it it has a very off-key feel to it, hard to describe but no other film in this genre can rival it. Christopher Walken as always gives a very good performance, making his character very unpredictable but riveting.
This neatly ties up the trilogy although I'm aware of at least episodes 4 and 5. I don't know whether these will be any good or not, but I'd recommend the trilogy to anyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars ends the original trilogy on a good note 4 Mar 2010

Format:DVD
in my opinion this final film in the original trilogy is the weakest of
the three but still not bad.i like what they did with Christopher
Walken's character Gabriel.and Walken himself is great as usual.in fact
he's the best thing about the film.i also liked the ending.i thought it
was an appropriate and fitting way to end the original trilogy.i
didn't particularly like the main villain.i thought he was just too
ordinary and not worthy of the material.i also found this installment a
bit too preachy for my tastes.overall, the movie was definitely
definitely not as good as it could have been, but still very watchable

3.0 out of 5 stars Relegation 15 Jun 2005
Format:VHS Tape
Prophecy III After Prophecy I & II The score is God 2- Gabriel nil, Gabriel (Christopher Walken) has now been relegated to the second division the "Talking Monkeys"(humans). No longer an angel cannot he leap from tall buildings or bring people back from the edge of death. In this reduced state he realises he has been on the wrong side and decides to help Danyael (Half man, half angel) to fulfil his destiny. This involves a confrontation with Pyriel the Antichrist the outcome of which will settle the fate of mankind. Heavy stuff!
