Although there is no documentary proof that Coinneach Odhar - The Brahan Seer - ever existed, his name and his prophecies have been handed down through the centuries around the Highlands of Scotland. His prophecies concern a number of subjects from foretelling the downfalls of various Scottish Clans, the last battle fought on British soil - the Battle of Culloden, the Second World War, the building of the Caledonian Canal, as well as forecasting rail services around the Highlands and gas and water being piped around Inverness. His was a tragic end, after offending Isabella, the Baroness of Kintail with one of his prophecies, he was thrown into a barrel of burning tar. This book divides his prophecies into the ones that are thought to have been totally fulfilled, those which could have been made through natural insight and those which have yet to come to pass.
