2.0 out of 5 stars Good ideas & characters, but the story flags 1 Oct 2012

I liked the idea of the non-terrorists, of saving an alien species from the xenophobic and psychopathic ex, and the writing is pretty good, but the story just didn't gel. Partly, I think the Shifters' abilities were too far-fetched; I didn't get why the xenophobe could tolerate the awful Leeches but not the Shifters; he was maybe a bit too omnipotent; and although I liked Kira and David's characters, they weren't fully fleshed out and their portrayal somehow superficial with a very rushed ending. I'm sure this author's work will improve with experience.
4.0 out of 5 stars Kept my attention 25 April 2012

I met Isabo a few years ago at a RT convention. I usually don't read erotic or romance but wanted to give her books a try. This is the second I have read and I have thoroughly enjoyed both. I like the science fiction of her books. It didn't take me long to read but it was a great read while it lasted. The sex was a good level for me not really reading erotic often. I was invested in the characters and their cause. I cheered at the end.
