Product Description

CI5: Criminal Intelligence 5. A team specially formed by the Home Office to combat an increasing wave of terrorism. Special men - experts from all branches of the army, the SAS, the police. It offers tough, hard men to deal with tough hard situations. Their brief? To keep Britain clean, keep it safe. Protect it from anarchy, from acts of terror, crimes against the public. Lewis Collins and Martin Shaw are Bodie, ex-paratrooper, ex-mercenary, and Doyle, ex-CID detective, two of the deadliest special agents on the block...deadly spirited, often abrasive but always tempered by mutual respect...and they always get results. Gordon Jackson portrays George Cowley, the straight-talking chief of CI5 in a series that takes an intriguing look at the loyalties, treacheries, perils and dramas of a government department battling against the real world of espionage, organised crime and terrorism. Foreword by series creator Brian Clemens. A chronological account of every episode including cast lists and production credits. A comprehensive guide to The Professionals merchandised products, from toys to magazines. Over 200 back and white photographs, never before published until now. Includes extensive interviews with actors, producers, writers, directors and other production team members - many speaking about their work on the series for the first time. Everything you ever wanted to know about The Professionals, including shooting/location schedules, cast lists, actor profiles and cut scenes.

FANTASTIC! 8 May 2009
A very well written and detailed history of The Professionals including interviews, quotes and amusing anecdotes of many cast and crew members. From actors, producers, directors, stunt men and special effects men, to the production company's hair dresser. They all have their say with memories of what went on during the making of the show, including the problems, the hard work and the fun too; it's all in this book. Lots of background and technical information, deleted scenes, script changes, amusing stories and many wonderful behind the scenes photos. Not only that but it includes location/shooting schedules in incredible detail for every one of the 57 episodes. There is also a complete episode guide with synopsis, cast and production unit lists, including many previously uncredited. The action cars are listed for each episode too, showing real and false registration plates. There's a chapter on the three lead stars, Lewis Collins, Martin Shaw and Gordon Jackson and a detailed merchandise section. Something for everyone in this book, it's a highly entertaining and informative read, highly recommended.

Having waited eagerly for this book I am not disappointed. My first impression was that I needed to read the book carefully so I didn't miss anything. What impressed me so much was the sheer volume of interviews and quotes, background and technical information together with location and shooting schedules which are really interesting and described in detail. There are amusing anecdotes and lots of behind the scenes images both written and in pictures - these make this a wonderful read. The design and layout are clear. I have to be honest some of the photos look better than others but overall I think the number of pictures is good and it breaks up all the information so it can be digested easily. To summarise the book is easy to read - I enjoy Bob's writing style and it will be a useful reference guide for the dedicated fan.

This book is the absolute ultimate guide to The Professionals. I thought i knew a fair bit about the series, having been a fan since the show started, but since reading the book i now realise i didn't!
There are well over six hundred pages of fascinating facts and illustrations relating to the cast, crew, cars, locations and just about everything else you can think of relating to the series.
There is even a foreword from the shows creator, Brian Clemens.
I have now read the book from cover to cover, but it's not one to leave on the bookshelf gathering dust, as i find it a constant source of information.
An absolute must for any Professionals fan... you won't be disappointed.
