You will love this book if ouy like romance and suspense. This book portrays a life of a common, but talented and God fearing girl, who is to be the bride of an arranged marriage with a prince. It is sad in a way because he has already had a wife that he loved and can find no room for Shelby. The prince's name is Nikolai, Nick, and he is angry at first with her, but you will have to read it an find out why it is an amazingly detailed, you fill like you are rightin on some of the conversations. It is the best book in the whole Lori Wick series. Get it and enjoy!!!

Ms. Wick has a captivating way of making us feel we are right there with her characters and in The Princess we not only had the opportunity to be right there with the characters, but to see through their eyes. The wonderful Christian values she must posess in her own life come through in this story.

Set in a small country, a common young woman marries a Prince and tries to be the perfect wife only to find without getting to know her husband that is impossible. The way the tenderness and spiritual love are depicted made me realize how special a mate is when they are chosen by God and I fell in love with my husband all over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Moving Romance Novel 29 Aug 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is so real and touching I did not put it down until 4:00 in the morning. I completely felt for Princess Shelby through her tough times getting to know the prince. And then!-how they fell in love so slowly and surely, it was all I could do to not cry. This book is so moving and powerful I would recommend it to anyone looking for a diehard romance/Christian novel.

This is a book I would suggest to anyone, it is a good wholesome romance about an arranged marriage, Lori Wick has the magical touch needed to make a good stary speak to you. You live in the characters, you learn how they feel, what they need, and after all they go through, you rejoice when they find each other. It is one of the best novels ever written.

If you're married, the story of Shelby and Nick's journey to a marriage of true love will make you stop and reconsider where you are in your own marriage. You'll find yourself loving your mate more and re-evaluating the three way relationship between your husband, yourself and God. It reminded me to pray, pray, pray and that God has control over our lives, not us. Like all Lori Wick books, I couldn't put the book down and finished it in one day! I bought it Saturday evening and passed it along to a friend by Sunday afternoon! Read it - it will make you laugh, cry and think about your own relationship - with God and your mate!

5.0 out of 5 stars Realistic 13 Sep 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This about is about the Shelley the main Protagonist in the novel who agree to a arrange marrying to prince Nikolai who still don't get over his late wife, when you read this is about the ups and downs about marrying, faith and traditional with his county law and the parents who still supportive and give very practical well-advice about marrying. I recommended this for those who are interested in modern-royal family or culture, romance, some funny moment and faith.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Wick's best 3 Aug 2010
By TeeMat
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have read most of Lori Wick's books and though I enjoyed them all. She generally doesn't write in a way that I'm floored thinking this is unreal, but I always enjoy them.

My faves of her are:
Pretense
To Know Her by Name (book 3 of Rocky Mountain Memories)
Bamboo & Lace
and I really liked the English Garden Series

Anyway, The Princess was wonderful. It was also partly unrealistic and in the first 50 or so pages I thought 'this book is going to be totally dumb and unbelievable', but I ended up falling in love with the characters. I also, like most reviewers, could not put it down and read until 4am to finish it. Loved it and read cover to cover with the exception of eating supper!

It was slightly unrealistic, but then most Cinderella movies are, too. I would have liked to understand more how she fit into her new life. In never touched on the things of a Princesses life like suddenly having endless money and material things. I would have liked to know how Shelby dealt with that. She continued to drive her own vehicle and wear her own clothes and do her own thing which didn't really make sense to me.

Her Prince was just that--too good to be true--but wonderful and you fall for him! I did love this and it is one of the few books I could see myself rereading within the same year.

I often find Wick's books a little unrealistic in that the characters are always such incredible Christians and all they do is pray and seek God and do the right thing. I find that quite unlike normal life. The character's Christian walks are always what she should all seek to be like, but probably most are not. Of course most books have someone that is struggling with God or attitude, but everyone else is always perfect.
