This version of The Princess and the Pea is a lot of fun, with witty text and ideas and playful illustrations (the pea theme wanders throughout the pages so that it even appears at breakfast!). The flaps are a laugh, too - I won't reveal them here as some of them are a real joy to discover the first time. For the most part, the story follows the traditional tale although the prince and princess don't marry at the end - they simply become very good friends and have a wonderful time playing together.
My two-year old daughter loves this book and will sit and "read" the story to herself over and over. It's also a favourite choice for her older cousins to read to her.

A briliant retelling of the princess and the pea from a delightful series. The narrative is pitched at the right level to read to a class (Reception) as part of a topic on traditional tales. Love it!

A lovely book for a 4 year old, a bit more grown up as it isn't thick board pages. My daughter still likes flaps so it's great.
