Book Description

20 Mar 2007
The greatest Elven Wizard fights to free Anfall of an ancient evil, and fights his love for the woman destined to marry his brother. In the ancient, enchanted land of Anfall, wizards are dying out just when they are most needed to defend their world. Kasmarin is the Prince Adept, a warrior wizard who has selflessly taken on the responsibility to defend the kingdom with his magic. He is bound by his sense of honor and by tradition, and bound by his oath to find a gifted woman to marry the King. Lauren Emory, a New Yorker, crosses to Anfall to search for her brother, Tim. Pegged as the perfect match for the King, Kasmarin kidnaps her for his brother. A second brother, Sennsarin, tutors Lauren in her magic as the band risks all to rescue Tim Emory. Humor and danger mix in this classic romantic fantasy with a theme of star-crossed lovers. This book has been previously published Warning: contains graphic language, graphic sex, very mild violence.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Magical Romance 2 Jun 2007
By Book Addict TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
In AD 846 those gifted with magic found themselves feared and persecuted. With the likelihood of further deaths amongst their kind they appealed to the Spirit to guide them to a safe haven. Thus Anfall was created, a world misted in time where wizards and witches could live without fear, practicing their gifts and nurturing the talents of their children. Hundreds of years later the number of those able to wield magic has declined and Anfall is threatened by the evil wizard Teren. Even the powerful magic of Prince Adept Kasmárin (Kas) fails to banish him whilst Teren holds the legendary Anthla-ma; the ancient sceptre of Anfall.

With magical Adepts scarce, Kas looks to the Old Land (Earth) for a potential wife for his brother, King Lucenor (Luke). Finding Lauren an acceptable match; he's sure that as soon as she meets his handsome brother, she'll realise the feelings she harbours for Kas are just a reaction to the magic that ripples between them. Lauren has been in Anfall for a year, searching for her missing twin brother Tim. Unfortunately Tim has been captured by Teren and if she wants the help of Kas and his warriors, she has to agree to at least entertain the thought of Luke as a potential husband. The problem; the moment Lauren laid eyes on Kas she fell in love with him. Kas himself is deeply attracted to Lauren; however as she grows in her own magical powers, he becomes more convinced she should marry his brother and produce a talented child. He's pretty much in denial over his feelings for Lauren throughout this book, even when they become intimate.

Ciar Cullen has created a magical world which captures the reader immediately. From the first time they meet Lauren and Kas appear ideally suited; however fate conspires against their match. Not only does Kas believe the woman he loves should marry Luke; the Maiden (aka Alyssa) a powerful witch cursed over one thousand years ago by Teren foresees that Lauren will marry the king.

This is a great fantasy romance and I hope CC has produced the start of a new series set in Anfall; after all Luke and the youngest brother Sennsárin (Senn) definitely warrant their own stories. These characters and several others are all well developed and likeable, with plenty of subplots revolving around them; including the history between Alyssa and Teren, the parentage of Palin (an Adept warrior) and Tim's rescue plus his relationship with Jenna (Kas's sister). With its energetic story line and great characters, "The Princes of Anfall" is a richly drawn fantasy romance and a book not to be missed by fans of this genre.

Well now, THIS book is one I definitely want to be a series...I'd just love to know about the other princes. This was an EXCELLENT story!! I don't often give five stars...but this one deserved it in my mind. I won't go into the story, suffice to say it had EVERYTHING for me. Wonderful hero and heroine, great sub characters, steamy sex AND a great fantasy story. I'd say go for it!! Buy it!! I am desperately hoping there will be other stories for the other princes. Pleeease Ms. Cullen!??

5.0 out of 5 stars The Princes of Anfall 12 Feb 2008
By M. Nix - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Lauren Emory is searching for her brother, Tim, who has been missing for many years. She knows that he crossed from their home in New York to Anfall, a world where wizards are in danger of dying out. In an effort to find him she goes to Anfall and encounters members of the royal family, chiefly Kasmarin, the Prince Adept.

Kas is a warrior wizard, who has always lived in the shadow of his brother, King Luke. When he meets Lauren he knows that she is the perfect bride for Luke. She has magical gifts, and will help restore power to the royal family. The only problem is the powerful attraction between Lauren and Kas.

Kas tells Lauren that her brother is being held at the castle Teren, an evil wizard who also has control of a priceless artifact. The duo teams up with several of the royal brothers to rescue Tim, and to recover the artifact.

If they survive the battle, Lauren must decide if she will betray her love for Kas and marry Luke, or simply travel back to New York and try to put the world of Anfall out of her mind.

The Princes of Anfall is a rich tale of brotherhood and magic. Kas is a tortured soul, who fights to do what is right, even though he knows that it will break his heart. Lauren knows that he loves her, but doesn't quite understand why he battles that love. The sparks that fly between them are hot and emotional. I felt the pain that each of them felt, and loved watching them discover each other.

Readers who enjoy tales of magic and other worlds will love The Princes of Anfall. The story is richly told, with well developed characters and a magical story to tell.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time 6 May 2010

This book reads like a 7th grader's first attempt at writing something creative; actually, that is insulting to 7th graders. Truly this is the worst book I have read in a LONG time. There is no clear plot line, the characters are flat, 2D at best, and they are not even likable. There is very little back story about the setting and virtually none for the main characters. I got about half way through this horror before I finally told myself that I did not need to torture myself by finishing it. If you're still curious, try getting it through a local library or used bookstore. It is not worth anywhere near the cover price! If this author has other books I'm steering clear. I can't imagine her writing has improved unless she got some sort of wake-up call and took some remedial courses...
