I was impressed with this take on primal wounding, particularly with regards to how it can play itself out in terms of addictive behaviour later in life. The real test of the book was in lending it out to others and finding that the people I'd lent it to then bought copies of their own. I was helped by the concept of the upper and lower unconscious, and the diagrams that went with this were useful, too. The primal wound is one of those primary concepts that found its way into the heart of my practice as a counsellor, and this book contextualises it incredibly well.
