Book Description

Two abandoned souls are on the hunt for one powerful man. Soon, their paths will cross and lead to one twisted fate.

Danny Hansen is a Bosnian immigrant who came to America with hopes of escaping haunted memories of a tragic war that took his mother's life. Now he's a priest. Yet that does not stop him from acting as an avenging angel on those who stay within the criminal law but live outside the laws of love and compassion.

Renee Gilmore is the frail and helpless victim of one such powerful man. Having escaped his clutches, she now lives only to satisfy justice by destroying him, regardless of whom she must become in that pursuit.

But when Danny and Renee's paths become inexorably entangled, neither of them may make it out of this hunt alive.

Review

A thrill-a-minute ride, with heart-pounding action and a twist that you'll never see coming. (Tess Gerritsen)

It's smart enough to realize that, for many, the scariest thing in life isn't a monster or something that bumps in the night. It's love. Love is terrifying. And powerful. And unstoppable. And if you don't already know that, you're about to see why. THE PRIEST'S GRAVEYARD will haunt you - long after you want it to. (Brad Meltzer)

'Perfect entertainment. Beguiling, compelling, challenging, and riveting - fantastic gimmick-free storytelling. Don't pass this one up. (Steve Berry)

Skilfully written, surprising, and impossible to put down . . . his best novel to date. This is an extremely well-thought-out novel, precisely plotted, and, like a good magic trick, deceptive and startling. A daring and completely riveting thriller. (Booklist)

An amazing novel, utterly compelling, the story of an abandoned girl and a strange, vengeful priest whose paths eventually cross - with terrifying consequences. Intensely readable, well written, and completely original. (Douglas Preston)

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 3 Jun. 2014

This is one very good book. The main character who is not a good guy for killing so many people, especially being a priest but I've got to say by the end of the book i was blown away by the honesty this man possessed. Even though i knew it wouldn't be a happy ending i kind of expected it. But loved it throughout. I gave it five stars because of his amazing writing style.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 6 Feb. 2014
By AJ.
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I am a Dekker fan and have been for quite a few years now, so I knew that I would most likely enjoy the book. I was not wrong. I gave it four stars because it has a good plot, is well written and in true Dekker fashion has you intrigued from start to finish. It did not get the full 5 stars because I felt that something was missing - something to make it stand out from other books of its kind. That being said I still gave it 4, it is good and I would recommend it.

This book is UNFORGETTABLE and leaves you with a mind spinning new vision of what you thought you believed about justice, retribution, crime, violence and God. I have loved Ted's books ever since I picked up my first one HOUSE with Frank Peretti. Never disappointing.
