I found this book to be an easy read and the author is consistent with her own principles of not using 100 words when 10 will do. It is a very easy read from beginning to end and also a book you can dip into. I found myself acknowledging aspects of my presenting style that can be improved and gaining confidence from tips on how to manage the myriad situations any presenter might be faced with. With numerous examples of good and bad presentations, it is clear the author knows her subject intimately. I appreciated the breadth of presentation occasions covered from social to formal and ad-hoc to planned. A great book I am happy to recommend and one I have no doubt I will refer to again and again.

First impressions count - especially when you’re giving a presentation. And you don’t want your talk to be remembered for all the wrong reasons!

Tricia lays out exactly what it takes to give a presentation that has impact - so that you're remembered long afterwards for all the right reasons.

Every speaker should read this before standing in front of an audience. It's filled with practical tips, whether you’re a professional speaker or a complete novice.

It is all too easy to drown in advice when it comes to communication. Whether you communicate for a living or find yourself occasionally thrust into the limelight there will be practical advice for you in these pages. Tricia Woolfrey avoids either a clinical 'recipe' approach or an indulgent 'do-it-like-me' approach. Instead she combines memorable advice with personal anecdote in a winsome way which will keep you turning the pages for the next gem.

For those who want to work their way through the book, in the finest tradition of 'teach yourself' manuals, there are worksheets for every chapter. There is also a wonderful two-page summary and list of resources at the end of the book.

There are plenty of books on presentation techniques out there but I don't think that you'll find a more practical, comprehensive or usable workbook than this one. It invites you to look at your presentations from every useful angle and perspective but somehow manages to be concise and to the point too. I'm confident that her advice and questions, combined with my answers will result in my delivering considerably better presentations.

Tricia knows her stuff and it shows. I'm delighted and - if you want searching questions and useful advice - you will be too.

This book is excellent for anyone making a presentation in virtually any situation.
I particularly like the coaching tips given throughout the book as little helpful asides.
I will be recommeding this to all my candidates who do a presentation as part of an assessment centre.
Thank you Tricia!
