"The Present Takers" is a powerful story about bullying in a primary school. Both humourous and dramatic it is an enjoyable, although occasionally uncomfortable read, which makes children think about the effect bullying can have on themselves and others. The characters are well drawn and children should empathise well with them. I would recommend it for older junior age children. It is an excellent book for teachers to read aloud. The PSHE issues in the book will give many opportunities for discussion.
