More About the Author

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, affectionately called the "father of motivation" by his fans, is one of the most widely known and respected people in the field of self-empowerment.

He became a well-known author with his bestselling book Your Erroneous Zones, and has gone on to write many other self-help classics, including Meditations for Manifesting, Staying on the Path, Your Sacred Self, Everyday Wisdom, and You'll See It When You Believe It. Despite his childhood spent in orphanages and foster homes, Dr. Dyer, who has a doctorate in counseling psychotherapy, has overcome many obstacles to make his dreams come true.

Today he spends much of his time showing others how to do the same. His latest titles include: Getting in the Gap and 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace.

Dr Dyer outlines often surprising practical strategies which are used by life's winners, successful and happy people, to ease their ways through life and to achieve what they want. He indicates that there is no reason to be guilty about wanting things and setting in motion the means to achieve them as your gain does not contribute to another persons loss, on the contrary, done correctly, your gain contributes to the gain and happiness of others too.

This is the second book that I have read by Dr Dyer, the first changed my life at a time when I had hit an impasse and really needed advice. By following that advice my life changed out of all expectation so I did not bother to read another of his books because I thought 'OK, I understand where I was going wrong, job done'.

One of Amazon's marketing strategies is to present similar products to those previously purchased so they emailed me with another Dyer book with taster pages. As I thought I already knew it all, I was not very interested. However I was doing nothing in particular so I dipped in and then wanted to know more. In general I am a successful person so I understood some of the strategies but it is good to be reminded of things I might not have used for some time and of course there was also material that was new to me and that I could easily put into practice.

This is not just another self help book, it is a deeply practical insight into why and how things go wrong in life and how to put them right. It outlines the strategies used, sometimes consciously sometimes automatically by some of the most popular, decent but wealthy and successful people in the public eye as well as those who work quietly for their own families and for others.

I love this book, I love the colours and the pictures, it is a beautiful book. It is like having your own childhood book again where visually it is inspiring, the paper is thick giving it a very rich feeling. It is a pleasure to read, and is well written. I believe what the author says makes a lot of sense and he explains his theories with personal experience thereby making it more authentic. I would thoroughly recommend this book if you wish to live a more peaceful and pleasurable life even it means changing the way we think completely. As Dr Wayne Dyer says in his book on p 185 "Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change" I wish you joy in reading this beautiful book.

I have suffered badly from depression for several years, and I have even attempted suicide on a number of occassions. I find it very hard to trust people because of all the times that I have been used and abused, this book has really helped me turn my life around and now I see that as long as I am happy with me the person I was and am ment to be, what does it matter what anybody else thinks. I am now more in control of my life than I ever was, and it is all thanks to this book. I know I still have a long way to go but I am on the right road - and I am finally happy with who I am and where I am going. Thank You DR Wayne Dyer for allowing me to see that I am worth while, and who cares what anybody else thinks - if they don't like you, then nobody's perfect.

This is the book that changed my life!

Of all the books I have read, this outstanding work by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has caused a turn around in my life; in the way I look at life; in the way I live it. It is exciting, and refreshingly different. How different?

Well, to begin with, in his preface, Dr. Dyer sends the reader to the last chapter in the book first! Chapter 15, entitled A Portrait of a Person Connected to the Field of Intention, is the author's attempt to show the impact that this work can have upon an individual. After reading it I have no doubt that you will go back to the beginning for what will probably be the beginning of a "new you".

Dr. Dyer's thesis is contained in Part 1, The Essentials of Intention. Consisting of the first six chapters, it is here that he slowly and carefully constructs his concept. From Viewing Intention From A New Perspective, through a description of The Seven Faces Of Intention, to Chapter 6, Intention and Infinity, the reader is led to the conclusion: "Just as love is eternal, so is this my true nature. I'll never be afraid again, because I am forever." He then asks, "You are in the truest sense, as I've said previously, either a human being having an occasional spiritual experience, or an infinite spiritual being having a temporary human experience. Which of those gives you a feeling of love? And which inspires fear?"

Throughout, these six formulating chapters, Dr. Dyer draws from some of the great minds of our time and in history: Hermes, Emily Dickinson, John Keats, Swami Chidvilasananda, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Mahatma Gandhi, Max Planck and Dr. David R. Hawkins, to name a few. Each chapter ends with a five point "how to" section to assist the reader in implementing the ideas just covered.

I am beyond grateful for Dr Wayne Dyer's work. He gives you the theory and then the tools for transforming your life. He also explains everything in a way that makes you fully understand your own potential in this Universe. This book is essential for spritually interested people who want to expand their minds, understand more, and who want to create their own future!
