I noticed there's no synopsis/back cover blurb for you on here so I thought I'd use the review space to leave one.

At the end of The Portal Between, Lily returned alone; Kate hoped Sam would follow and Kate's world was rocked again. Sam has problems of her own, the magic is out of control, and Lily can't help this time. Kate tries to pull her life back together but it's hard and she finds comfort where she can. But who else can wield the magic? Who challenges Sam's right to rule?

A mother and daughter of the true bloodline battle with a son who thinks he has the right to rule even as the magic changes him into the monster his father had become, but Lily thinks he might be saved.

Earlier I read the Portal Between and LOVED it. I was pulled into the world around these characters and simply adored it. Everything about it was incredibly well written and so much so that it felt like I was living the life right along side the characters. Naturally, the next chance I had to buy a new book, it was the next in the series. I'm so thrilled I did too. I started it yesterday and even as I had to pull myself away from it to tend to my daily life, my mind was still firmly within this book. I hated having to put it down. Every chance I could sneak in a few paragraphs or another chapter, I did. It was finished by bed time and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

If you have not read anything by this author, you really need to read this series! She's fabulous!
