Book Description

14 Jun 2012
This remarkable book is filling an enormous gap in the market; it is crammed full of helpful information for parents, teachers and teenagers. The Porn Plague includes chapters on pornography, sexual deviations, genital surgery, anal bleaching, gang rape, forced prostitution, trafficking of children and teenagers, sexting and advice for parents, so will be a welcomed addition to the bookshelf. The Porn Plague is truly a trail blazer and the first book to be published which takes the lid off the subject of pornography by revealing the world wide scale of this industry and its harmful health effects on the minds of children and teenagers. Here is investigative journalism at its best. Wilma gives us an unbiased look at previously uncovered ground, showing that the time is right to expose the taboo which for too long has been behind closed doors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thanks from a Parent. 12 Feb 2013
By Monte
Format:Paperback
I find it very hard to keep up with technology so this book left me flabbergasted at what my children may be exposed to within our own home. The content is neither embarrassing or salacious and I felt comfortable leaving it out for my 15 year old son to read. My friends were as shocked as I was, especially the information on what teenagers are doing on their mobile phones and I have recommended this book to several friends. This is not an academic book of statistics, it is a frank snapshot of shocking dangers which most parents are oblivious of. Above all I am amazed that these topics are not being dealt with by schools or legislation. Well done for putting all this information in one place.

5.0 out of 5 stars A much needed book-Congratulations to the author 15 April 2013
By Barbara
Format:Paperback
Since starting this book I haven't been able to put it down. There is a wealth of vital information that parents and teenagers will find extremely enlightening on the harmful health effects and issues around pornography. As a secondary school teacher I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to parents, teenagers and colleagues as the guidance given in this book covering a wide range of topics around pornography such as online grooming, cyber stalking and trafficking will help to protect our youngsters from becoming victims to the very real health issues and crimes associated with pornography.

The author should be praised for tackling such an important yet taboo subject in a sensitive and highly professional way.
