My 7 year old daughter saw this book in a book shop, and was so impressed by the pop up solar system that she saved up her pocket money for 8 weeks to buy it! We bought it from Amazon because our local shop had sold out. She was not disappointed when it arrived from Amazon. The big parcel also helped the excitement and she was delighted to get the book for a cheaper price! The pop-up aspect is a little limited - just the one pop-up of the solar system. None the less a very impressive pop-up feature. The rest of the book has pull-out data files that slide in between the pages. The information provided is really interesting and given in short accessible paragraphs and sections rather than reams of text. She enjoyed learning and impressing grandparents with her new found knowledge. Highly recommended.

This is just a wonderful book for any kids - boys or girls - interested in planets. My 5 year old got it for Christmas and I have since bought it for an 8 yr old boy and an 8 yr old girl - all of whom seem to love it - it really does have something for everyone.
Great speedy delivery too - always a bonus when leaving pressie buying to last minute!!

I have a collection of pop up books which my almost 5 year old grandson adores, so this seemed like an ideal grow into book. I'm afraid the pop up content was dissapointing, a single pop up as a frontispiece. However it is a grow into book, and there are sufficient pull out pieces to explore. It would be useful for children engaged in a Science based project at school, around 7 to 9 year olds. I found it a bit dry, but hopefully my grandson will enjoy it and grow into the facts and figures it contains.
