5.0 out of 5 stars The Pop-Up Potty Book 16 Aug 2002
By Hilary
Bought this delightful book with two other books for my daughter at 20 months. This book was her favourite and has remained so. We read the book together to see what the little boy does to use the potty and at 22 months had my daughter toilet trained within two weeks. We substituted the word 'Potty' with 'Toilet' and skipped the potty altogether and got straight on the big loo. I am certain it is all down to this book. 'Quick, run! I need the toilet...!' just like the little boy, has saved many accidents I am sure. All my tabs are well used but are still in tact after seven months of use and even now the Potty Book is read on her own (she knows all the phrases by heart) when my daughter needs more than a quick wee. Excellent.

The Pop Up Potty Book is an excellent way to help your child through the trauma of potty training. I wish I'd known about it sooner. My son absolutely adores the book and, since receiving it, has read it loads of times and takes it with him everywhere he goes.
The simple story is informative with a little humour added to it. The activities involved makes it even more interesting for young children. My son's favourite part is where the little boy pulls his trousers down to sit on the potty. Buy it now and help those potty training blues.

4.0 out of 5 stars EDUCATIONAL AND FUN AT THE SAME TIME. 1 April 2002
By A Customer
I purchased this book for my son at Christmas as I wanted to start potty training him, he is 2 1/2, we had fun reading the book, but I made a large mistake and left him and the book alone. Unfortunately there are now bits of the pop up book bent or missing.
I know that he found the book really fun and even though there are bits missing he still reads it and claps (as we do at home) when the little boy has done a wee on his potty!
I have no regrets at all about buying this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The fun potty training book 30 July 2003
I have just bought a new copy of this book. Having three children and about to train the last, the previous copy, which a friend with three children had given me, was falling to pieces it was so well played with.
Both my boys aged 5 and 7 still love the book!!! My almost 3 year old is very enthusiastic about her latest adventure and so far things are going extremely well. I would definitely recommend this book to every mother about to embark on potty training.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing! 1 Jan 2006
I had read previous reviews on this book and was very disappointed when I received it.
The potty in the book looks nothing like a typical potty and my daughter is not convinced. The tabs are not easy to pull, and if I left my daughter alone with this book, it would be in shreds in minutes. I also found it very patronising.
Try 'I want my potty' instead - my daughter loves it, and it's much more fun to read for both of us.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful but not strong enough 12 July 2004
By KP
This is a great little book, with each page depicting each stage of using the potty. My daughter (2-3years) really liked it, maybe a little too much, because it wasn't really sturdy enough to stand up to a toddler's little hands. Some of the moveable pieces did get ripped off. I'm not sure though whether it really helped in speeding up the potty training process, but was still read a lot!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll laugh, you'll cry... 16 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase
Wonderfully creative, innovative, with first rate characterisation. The twists in the plot will keep you guessing until the end. Gripping stuff.
On an unrelated note, when we wrapped this up to give to our friends with the baby, my wife refused to sign the card. Wouldn't say why, just kept shaking her head at me and sighing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 28 July 2009
This little book is perfect to read with a toddler when they are using a potty training system(one that looks like a mini toilet) as it features that type of potty in the pictures.
It's great fun, with tabs to pull on each page as the little boy in the pictures learns to use his potty.
My Grandson particularly liked the one where the wee is being tipped into the real toilet at the end of the book. It certainly helped to make toilet training fun for him, and he still enjoyed looking at it long after the real purpose was past.
An excellent buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop up potty book
Really lovely book, beautiful illustrations and my daughter loves it. The 'pop ups' are a bit delicate though (as you would expect) so it needs supervision and 'carefull looking'.

My son loves this book . It's good as we are now trying to introduce potty training and I think it helps him as it explains very well what to do.

Written for both parents and the child, but including the child makes it stand out from those which just inform parents
