Product Description

Product Description

In which country did a rhinoceros win an election? Which Mexican president held a funeral for his own leg? Which MP's Spitting Image puppet sold for the most money at auction? Who said 'A flea can be taught everything a Congressman can'? What is a kakistocracy? Who was the only American president to get into a fight in a bar (because someone called him Four-Eyes)? Which MP was bitten by a bear while riding it? And was the last person to live at 10 Downing Street before the Prime Minister really called Mr Chicken? For answers to these and hundreds more burning political questions, turn to any page in this invaluable book of facts, statistics and trivia. Even a short browse through its bizarre, entertaining and highly informative contents will soon reveal the inner workings of the men, the women and the rhinoceroses that govern us.

As a keen trivia hunter I own the Schott's books and this book is in the same vein. Perfect for knowing anacdotal tit bits for conversation, public speaking and the like, for British, American and other political systems. (I say other simply because the Brits and Yanks are the two under the spotlight most)

If you are looking for a gift for a political anorak or if you own the Shott books, or Eats, Shoots & Leaves etc, then this will fill a hole in you trivia knowledge.
