A good and serious attempt to penetrate the hidden political shoals in the depth of Dylans Ouvre. Well worth the effort.

It is about time this book came out in paperback, but it also has added value with a new introduction, updated chapters, two new chapters and a detailed time line. The book provides extremely interesting insights into Dylan as a political writer, but also into his enigmnatic personality. Great value for money. It gives some perceptive insights into Dylan and Farm Aid, the Judas incident and Ewan McColl and much more besides.

Interesting articles, lots of typos, alternative-universe timeline 3 April 2009
By Devon L. Strolovitch - Published on Amazon.com
An interesting set of well-written articles taking political perspectives on Bob Dylan's career, including his most recent work. HOWEVER: for a second edition, there A LOT of typos and misprints, from misspellings to typesetting errors. And the timeline at the back is a curiosity -- not only for the choice and wording of some of the events, but for the bizarre belief that George Bush was inaugurated as President of the United States in 1985... and began a second term (sic) in 1989.

I have a lot of Bob Dylan books and this is one of the better ones. He stretches sometimes for a point but overall I thought it very insightfu of Dylan's music.
