This volume seems to contain almost everything in my printed (Dent) edition, so in principle it should be a good buy. Unfortunately it is let down by poor (non-existent) navigation. There is no active contents list and no active index. There is a contents list at the beginning but this refers to page numbers which don't, of course, exist in the ebook. The only way to make this useable is to insert manually notes at the start of each poem, a long job.

The formatting is generally good, though for my taste there is too much spacing between verses and between poems.

5/5 for content, 4/5 for formatting, 0/5 for navigation.

High Victorian poetry is maybe a bit unfashionable now and Matthew Arnold was nothing if not high Victorian. But his poetry is eminently readable; well crafted, thoughtful and easy to take in. This is a good collection with all his best known works such as Dover Beach, The Scholar Gypsy and the long narrative poem Sohrab and Rustum. It also has a wealth of less familiar poems that are a pleasure to dip into. The navigation problems seem to have been sorted and it is possible to go straight to individual poems from the list of contents but you may sometimes wish to adjust font size to prevent lines over running too much. A very worthwhile 'buy' (for nothing!) for lovers of English poetry or students wanting to collect standard texts.

No line breaks, no bookmark for the table of contents. The text is there, but if you can about things like stanzas you should get another edition.
