5.0 out of 5 stars The True Poet. 8 Feb 2009
Format:Audio CD
This album is quite simply, quality of the highest order. All eight tracks are amazing. Side one kicks off with "So Many Sides Of You", followed by "Lay Your Lovin' On Me", then "Secrets", "Just My Imagination" & side one finishes with "Stand Up". Side two kicks off with "Games", then "If You Think You're Lonely Now" & finally "Where Do We Go From Here". I remember the first time I heard The Poet & it blew me away. Bobby Womack returned from his drug days with this classic. It was originally released on Beverley Glen, but Motown took it over. Bobby dedicated it to his father Friendly, who died earlier that year, 1981. If there is an album that belongs in any Soul Music fans collection, this is it. Bobby we love you.
