The Pit Workout DVD consists of three hour-long workouts. The first is upper body, the second lower body, and the third both upper and lower. No equipment is needed (a punchbag is optional), so it can be performed anywhere.

This will get you into shape! Anyone who says it's easy is not doing it right..it's as simple as that! And simplicity is the key to The Pit. The exercises are tough and are broken up with hiting or kicking the bag (or shadow boxing if you don't have a bag handy).

Although Chuck Lidell's name is used to sell the DVD, the workout is taught by John Hackelman (Lidell's teacher). Hackelman is a great teacher.

Bottom line: If you buy this DVD and follow the workouts three times a week, you will get into great shape!

Since the contents of the dvds have been described, I'll just go straight into what I think of them.

The workouts are pretty hard core. They start with a warm up and the intensities progress up immediately afterwards. The exercises are grouped together by sets, and cover aspects like strength, power and endurance. You're even given water breaks! What I was most impressed with, is their choice of the support trainers/demonstrators. There are men and women of different build and abilities, and they just train together, and it's all cool. That kind of an "all inclusive" and "non-judgemental" attitude is quite a breath of fresh air.

Two things I would like to have seen more of, are kicks and flexibility drills. I would like to have seen a greater variety of kicks being involved, then again these aren't "instructional" dvds, rather, they are workout dvds that you can put on and follow.

All in all the training programs are great to follow by yourself if you're starting out, and want to improve your strength and stamina, with very little equipment.
