Product Description
Another instalment of the Pink Panther series. This time around the French detective (Peter Sellers) has stumbled his way up to the position of Chief Inspector, displacing his long-suffering boss Inspector Dreyfuss (Herbert Lom), who has turned to a life of crime in an effort to bump him off. Dreyfuss kidnaps the inventor of a death ray and demands the sacrifice of Clouseau in return. Clouseau then has to hide in many disguises in order to capture Dreyfuss and the machine and save himself and the world!

The Pink Panther Strikes Again has more laughs per minute than any film I've ever seen. At the time of writing, I cannot get my hands on a copy for Region 2. I wonder why. Amazon can usually be depended on to supply the goods. So if I misspell a any names it's because I can't check with the DVD.
Inspector Clouseau (that's bound to be misspelled) has, after many years of incompetent service in the French police force (whose name I won't even attempt to spell), managed to drive his Chief Inspector, Dreyfus (there's another one) insane. So Dreyfus is in the insane asylum and Clouseau is Chief Inspector. As the film starts, Dreyfus is being assessed and it's anticipated that he'll be considered mentally fit enough to leave the asylum and resume his life. That is until Clouseau arrives to help. He and Dreyfus meet by the lake and there follows the most hilarious catalogue of disasters which drive the poor mad man back over the brink. He manages to get out of the asylum anyway and spends the rest of the film trying to get Clouseau assassinated by threatening the world powers with a doomsday machine. As usual, Clouseau manages to seem to be the hero who saves the day, by his accustomed combination of stupidity and luck.
I hope Amazon will stock Region 2 versions of this film in the near future. Even though I've watched it several times, each time I laugh till I feel sick and dizzy and my whole torso aches (it's hard to breath when the comedy comes so thick and fast). Of course, it's a matter of opinion and others may disagree, but I think this is the funniest film ever made and I recommend it to anyone who shares my sense of humour.

Peter Sellers is at his brilliant best in this movie.Herbert Lom, is so strong as poor Dreyfuss driven to the insane asylum by the bungling Inspector Clouseau. If you are a fan of Clouseau they don't get funnier than this film. The Quasimodo disguise,the attempt to vault the draw bridge ,the beekeeper who has lost his voice. My daughter loved it too. It is so full of inventiveness that it seems funnier every time you watch it. The obligatory,free love aspect, was vaguely shocking to us now. Nobody could say these films were politically correct but they were made 30-40 years ago, it is an element of all the Pink Panther films.I just ignored it. NB This would not be suitable for young children. Sadly there are several grisly murders,you might not like the homosexual innuendo, and a seduction that involves a riotously funny Tom Jones impersonation.

If you only ever see one Peter Sellers film in your life, this is it!!
It is side-splittingly funny. Sellers at his best and a great supporting cast with some well-known faces - get it.

You come to understand the true weight of Dryfuss's motive to kill Clouseau. And I am afraid, you will eventually agree with him. Sellers is hilarious,
