Originally I had asked my husband to find just the Pink Panther soundtrack. To my surprise & now delight he came home with this instead. The first 12 tracks are just as wonderful as I remembered, with the delightful flair of Mancini's genius. ("It had Better Be Tonight" & "Tiber Twist" - always wonderful) However some of the tracks from the second film such as "The Greatest Gift" (instrumental), "Dreamy", & "The Orange Float" are splendid examples of a musical style that is still 'in-style'. This is a great CD to use at a fun dinner party with friends, a cool retro-cocktail party, or just a fantastic reminder that Mancini's creativity is - Timeless!

Brilliant compilation of Mancini's outstanding work. The selection from The Return of the Pink Panther is particularly enchanting. There is quite a lot of the soundtrack of the film here which is unusual. A must have for any Mancini/ Pink Panther fan.
Now if they would only release a soundtrack of The Party.

Henry Mancini at his best. The music from these two fims is first rate and very enjoyable. It includes many gems. "The Greatest Gift" is a beautiful, haunting ballad and the "Return of the Pink Panther" number is a great, seductive variation on the Pink Panther theme. Of course the original "Pink Panther Theme" is included as well in all it's glory.
The CD cover art is the great illustration from "The Return of the Pink Panther" soundtrack lp of the Pink Panther in a top hat - as classy as this great music.

By far I give this CD five stars; a great mix of Mancini music. There are 25 tracks! The quality sounds good and there is a variety of music from both the original "Pink Panther" as well as the "Return". Well good!
