A 12 x 16 frame usually means that the frame will fit a 12 x 16 picture- not this one! The outside of the silver mount surround is 12 x 16 the actual picture area is a lot smaller; totally useless for what I wanted, but unfortunately I'd opened it before getting the picture out and realising the problem.
