Ken Hill's production of The Phantom of the Opera is an interesting read. While the story includes more characters from the novel, the play kind of reminds me of Andrew's Sydmonton production of Phantom: jokey. This version is more hilarious than horrific. It sounds like I don't recommend it, but I do. While script doesn't take itself seriously, its interesting to see what inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber to write his own treatment of the story. Just like webbers, this version is a musical and the song text is included as well as each song is noted.
An example of this is: Song 2: Accursed All Base Pursuit of Earthly Pleasures
The song titles are in bold font and the lyrics are indented rather than started from the far left side of the page. This helps denote where songs end and begin. After the script, the book contains a diagram of what the setting of the stage should look like and a list of props needed per scene of the play as well as the effect that will be needed. Very detailed.
