Video Description

"You need to treat your housework as if it is a paid job" Anthea Turner, The irrepressable Perfect Housewife, is hell-bent on sweeping the homes of the nation clean as a whistle!

Since the decline of domestic science disappeared from the school timetable the art of housekeeping has been lost to generations of young people. But help is at hand! Anthea Turner, The Duchess of Domesticity, has swept the nation with her no nonsense approach to running a comfortable, clean and well ordered home as she shares her tips on how to become a PERFECT HOUSEWIFE. This DVD collection features all eight episodes of the first series of PERFECT HOUSEWIFE. Each programme features hapless home makers who need a helping hand from the queen of clean to find the nest that has been lost in a cloud of clutter.

This 2 Disc DVD offers hundreds of helpfull and eye opening tips from the Queen of Clean herself...

Anthea Turner is the perfect housewife and the ultimate domestic goddess. In her stunning home nothing is out of place and everything is perfectly organised. In this series she's going to set out to try and re-educate the nations self-confessed incompetent housewives. Each episode Anthea will mentor two hopeless housewives. She will invite them to visit her mansion for a housekeeping course, in which they will learn skills needed to become a domestic goddess, and so will you! Our two women will then return to their homes with their new found knowledge to try and put it into practice. At the end of the week they will host an event in their own home and Anthea will judge who will be crowned `Best Housewife of the Week'.

fantastic motivator 10 Aug 2007
I have bought this dvd allong with Antheas book and for the average "messy" person there are a lot of hints and tips e.g. creating a memory box meaning only keeping things that really mean everything to you not keeping every birthday card you used to get(like me!!).the dvd's are a good visual motivator because you can see bits of other peoples houses and realsie thats exactly what you need to do in yours.
I'm halfway through decluttering my house and considering I thought I didn't have much clutter it's quite hard work but I can see the benefits already.my cleaning takes a lot less time in the rooms decluttered and I have time for more important things. A lot of Anthea's tips I find very useful like sort your post out as soon as it arrives if possible because it will clutter up the house. The DVD's are full of tips like this if you are of average "messyness" then the DVD's are geat go the whole hog and buy the book as well!!

I live abroad and kept hearing reference to this series so I thought I would treat myself... Half way through the first DVD I pressed pause and started cleaning and organising.
I would definitely recommend to anyone as, even for the houseproud housewife, there is lots to learn.
The only negative thing I could say is that I can't believe she has any free time if she cleans her house all on her own !!! It's massive....

I would seriously recommend this!

Get past the teeth gritting school teacher approach Anthea assumes in the first episodes and you'll begin to see the series for what it is, a highly motivating programme to help people who've lost their way, (or never found it), sort out their homes and put systems in place to keep them clean and tidy.

For people who haven't a clue where to start sorting out your house, this DVD is brilliant at showing you how to go about it.

The first Saturday after watching these, I took two large boxes to the charity shop, a car load to the tip, caught up with a month's worth of ironing, sorted out my wardrobes and learnt how to fold towels properly.

Buy the DVD's first to motivate you, if you want to buy the book, buy afterwards and use as an aide memoir.
