Buy it. Now. 3 April 2002
By Nicholas F. Holliday VINE™ VOICE
If this record doesn`t make the top 5, there really is no hope for the abomination that is the British music industry. Coming on like a cross between the Manchester bands of the late 80`s and Led Zep, The People is a rock tune that will make you want to move your feet, not your head. the driving, dance-based rhythm section is perfectly complimented by the nagging insistant guitar riff and the singer`s Robert Plant-esque vocals. The singer is also blessed with bags of charisma. Superb stuff.

The new Oasis! 20 Mar 2002
The People, the main track on this EP is one of those astonishing songs you only hear once every few years which literally blows you off your feet. The energy and emotion in the song is indescribible and whips any song out at the moment - Can't even be compared to the Hindu Times. The best new guitar band of 2002? More likely the best new guitar of the decade. Remember the mass hysteria that happened when Oasis released Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory? The Music will surely create the same hype when they release their album. You heard it here first. Just stunning - this is a breakthrough song, which will be everywhere in the next few years (Like Wonderwall was) Buy this. For heaven's sake, buy it now.

Firstly, I have all the releases the music have produced so far and to be honest this is not the best. 'Take the Long Road and Walk It' takes this honour. However, 'The People' is still excellent stuff from far and away the most exciting band to emerge recently. The best tune on the album is the third track 'Life', which is pretty self-indulgent but captures the live sound of 'The Music' brilliantly. Maybe I am stuck in 1995-6 but still for me the best music is from around this period in recent times (Definately Maybe, Morning Glory, Verve, Blur and Cast etc from this period)the sound of 'The Music' is similar to this but also incorporates the 'indie-dance' beats of the mondays, roses, early charlatans etc, which makes it perfect for indie clubs but still the twats play very little of themusic! Anyway, a word of advice for anyone reading this buy 'The People' and go and see the music on their forthcoming tour along with the Coral, I will be in Sheffield at the Leadmill, its quite an experience.
