5.0 out of 5 stars This edition is lovely 15 July 2012
Format:Paperback
Once you start reading the Patrick Melrose novels you'll want to read them all so rather than faffing about with the individual editions get this. I loved the jacketed glossy cover and I loved the rough cut pages which give a satisfying squeak when you open the book. Above all this book is designed so that it can flop open on any page so you can read it hands free, whilst eating etc. I've always preferred American editions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Patrick Melrose Novels 29 Jun 2012
By JDavies
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was surprised about this book. It had a glossy cover which I didn't expect, and the pages were roughly cut, making it a tactile book to leaf through. Lovely. Having all four novels under one cover was great. It meant that I read them in order and loved every word. Didn't want it to end. The book came immediately and I was very satisfied with my customer 'experience'! ~Thank you Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving Melrose 22 Aug 2012
By nickyb
Format:Paperback
I agree with another reviewer; buy this collection as it will save you time and money. Melrose is addictive like the substances he enjoys. This is a tremendous story of love and life, elation and depression. It's simply brillantly written and can be read again, and again. One feels for poor Patrick and sympathises with his anxieties. More Melrose please.

5.0 out of 5 stars fabulous book 29 July 2012
By sooze
Format:Paperback
This book was my summer read and a great choice it merged the depths of cruelty to human conciousness with the perfect blue sky and paradise of the beach, a perfect Dante heaven and hell yet it is a story of triumph over adversity, the oldest story of man. Really enjoyed it, beautifully written in a careful elegant style much missed in modern literature.
