Living as an ex-pat in Romania, I found this book very enlightening about the horrors of life in pre-revolution times. Her story of personal faith (and that of her husband) highlights the evils of the previous regimes, and encourages us to try to prevent their return.
Typographically, the text is spoilt by the over-use of hyphens but, when these are ignored, it is a worthwhile read.

A wonderful story of Romania before the revolution. The suffering of Christians and how their beliefs pulled them through the dark times.

How much we can glean from this book even though we may not experience the level of pain or suffering this lady and many others faced, their experiences speak volume about how we can endure and over come the situations we find ourselves in.
This book exposes the way people treat others in violating the position they are are in and the tough journey she and many others faced.
Although Sabina Wurmbrand's account is honest it is in no way pointing the finger or blaming anyone, there is no bitterness in her words but only the love and devotion she has for the Lord.

This was a story which was somewhat predictable, yet pleasant enough to read if you want something simple, to pass your time. Being Christian based, it allowed the reader to appreciate that we are all subject to testing within our own lives. Not one of the best stories I have read, but acceptable.
