Product Description

Product Description

There is a theory which states the most memorable record from any year isn't whatever disc is most acclaimed in award ceremonies or NME polls. It is the record that, when you play it four years later, takes you straight back to the sound of the radio, of Saturday morning TV, of pub jukeboxes and high-street clothes shops. That album for 1999 is the Vengaboys' The Party Album (who are actually two boys and two girls, but we can gloss over the details). No other record from the year is as generous and giving. Sure, it sticks to a single theme--a simple, beefy, 4x4 bassline, a catchy, quite daft chorus ("the Vengabus is coming" for instance, or "Boom, boom, boom, boom, I want you in my room"), but you know you're not going to get Beethoven when, on the cartoon album sleeve, one of the boys is dressed as a sailor, the other as a Native American. The gauntlet is thrown down--try and find another record from 1999 that can make you any more delirious. --Charlie Porter

This vengaboys album contains all their hits and more foot tapping tunes from the foreign artists. This album is good, and brilliant for dancing the night away during the millenium. It isn't I guess aimed at the older audience but to the younger generation. The tunes are simple but stick in your head continuosly. They can easily be hated. You can either love them or hate them - but on the whole the tunes are sooo danceable that no-one complains. I f you want to buy this then sure, go ahead, but make sure the style of the vegaboys pleases you. Altogether now.. Boom boom boom boom!
