It gripped from the first sentence. Beautifully written with details of the workings of The White House. Probably not true but so well written as to make one believe the machinations portrayed. My first book of his that I have read, look forward to reading more of his work.

Ludlum at his very best. A really enjoyable read that is hard to put down, never predictable and occasionally threatening.

Fascinating story - the first book I've read by this author, but of course have bought another two since. I was entranced throughout the story, although parts of it were a bit technical and detailed. I bought it originally because it was a long book and I had a lot of time on my hands, but am so pleased I did.

Michael Havelock, survivor of one World War and the game of chess that was the cold war. Betrayed and alone, must reveal the truth. This book will have you glued to it's pages from the start. Transporting you to another time, gripping your imagination right to the very last page. A book to be read over and over again.

I think this author is great and I have more or less read almost all his books whilst he was alive and I am now starting to read the ones he writes with another author. Great books.
