I bought my first Palgrave Student Planner a year ago for my first year of university. I loved it so much, that I have bought one for this year too! This planner has everything a student needs; There are sections were you can take note of tutor contact details, landlord contact details, tips from your tutors, reading lists, library books on reserve, exam dates and assignment deadlines and record of marks. It even has a section where you can plan your revision timetable! The general timetable is also conveniently located at the back of the book so that you can see it through the plastic cover.
There are lots of tips ( time management, revision and exam tips, managing stress) , as well as quick reference lists (common spelling errors, how to use an apostrophe, weight, length and temperature conversion tables, Greek alphabet, prime numbers, Roman numerals, a multiplier table, the periodic table and keyboard shortcuts). One page I found particularly useful as a Fresher was the 'laundry symbols' page.
The diary itself has ample space to write in, however, the lines on which you write are quite narrow, so it might be a bit tricky if you have large hand writing. Each day has a place for you to write the activity (e.g. 'meeting my tutor'), the time it is occurring and where it is. Each day also has a space for you to write a 'to do today' list. There is also a 'tip of the week', which can be useful at times.
With this planner, even the most disorganised of individuals can plan their time, as is essential when completing a degree. This is not just a diary, but a book which guides you into university life, and provides you with essential information which you may not have known before.
