There's a lot of recipes in here and some good ideas, although a cook book without pictures is a little awkward. I wouldn't recommend this book to others. I'd suggest looking for another paleo book which I know I'm going to do.

The Paleo theory is very good, but this book can be tricky to use. Most of the meals are American based and so ingredients are more difficult to come by, i.e certain meat.
None the less it has a couple of good ideas but sadly no pictures to inspire.

I bought this book after buying The Primal Blueprint but was sorely disappointed. A lot of the recipes are so basic that if you have a host of cook books then this will be a duplicate for many basic recipes. Personally, I found a lot of the recipes unappetising - Marrow (as in bone) and parsley spread, chopped liver - so if you're not too keen on offal then you may be put off. Also aesthetically, I thought the photography was unflattering (or was the food difficult to make look appealing?) and very strange that each recipe had the raw ingredients photographed - odd! I eat primally pretty much 95% of the time so this is no knee jerk reaction to a new diet, but I was not impressed.

This is a great book except - it hasn't been prepped for sale outside the US. The ingredients, measurements and cooking styles and temperatures are all in the US style with no conversation tables to help UK cooks.

I'm really into the Paleo idea / theory, but this cookbook doesn't give great recipes. The recipes are somewhat halfhearthed.

Recipes far too basic. There are also contradictions with what is written in the other book e.g recipes with sweet potato when the book says not to eat them.

I have been livig paleo for over a year now so can testify to its effectviness: it works wonders for me and has practically cured my son's skin condition, which had been misdiagnosed by several doctors in this country and abroad. I really bought the book for some inspiration when preparing our meals and so far so good. Some of the information is a bit of a repetition of the actual book "The Paleo Diet" but I don't really mind. I also bought the Paelo Solution - The Oiginal Human Diet - by Robb Wolf, a former pupil of Dr Cordain who also endorsed the book, and was totally amazed! This is a "must have" book for all paleo followers and the scientific lingo is conveyed in plain English. These two books complement each other and I am glad I got them.

Lots of good recipes, and lots of information on the diet at the front of the recipe book, which is great for people who haven't already got the original book on the diet itself. Have really enjoyed choosing recipes and as I've got a set of American cups from Lakeland the recipes were easy to follow. There is a two week meal plan at the back which is helpful for anyone starting out, and a great set of guidelines at the front to show what should be in your kitchen cupboards. You do have to adapt some of the ingredients for British shopping eg. venison for elk, and beef for bison but that's part of the fun!
