After reading Jodi Picoult's book was really looking forward to watching this DVD and with actresses like Juliet Stevenson and Megan Mulally in it, was sure it would match up to the book. What a thorough disapointment, it was a waste of time and never actually told the story about Chris & Emily, their childhood together, Chris's time on remand in prison and the trial. Wish I'd stuck to the book and my own imagination!!

When you think of Megan Mullally you may think of Karen Walker thedrinking socialite. Little did we realise that there is a side to Meganwhich can pull at your heartstrings. As the mother of a girl who dies in asuicide pact she appears both strong yet vulnerable. Just when you thinkthat she is going to fall totally apart she finds the strength within.
Like me you may find it a difficult film to watch but it is alsoutterly compelling to see how the characters interact with each otherthrough their suffering. When you think that Mullally will seek outsupport from her husband and best friend you see her reject them andisolate herself in her fight to survive her worst nightmare. Excellentsupporting work from Juliet Stevenson as her best friend helps to makethis little known film make a huge impact on your life and what youthought you might do if faced with a similar situation. Not to bemissed....

I absolutely love all Jodi Picoult books - but 'The Pact' is one of my favourites. So, whilst I had read the poor reviews for the film, I was still keen to see it. However, it is as poor as the other reviews have said! It has none of the detail and intimacy of the book. When the film finished I was still sat there waiting for the second half! I couldn't believe that that was it. The court case, which is central to the book, was hardly touched upon.

A mediocre film by itself, but a real disappointment if you know the book.

Having read the book I was also very disappointed with the film which had no bearing on the book. I understand in part that they were trying to show it more from Emily's point of view and give her more of a voice which was not so evident in the book but I just found it badly scripted especially the role played by Chris who in the book was charged with first degree murder and denied bail so therefore spent most of his time in prison until the trial but this was conveniently forgotten in the film and he did not spend anytime in prison at all! As for the diary Emily left, her mother did discover it but she then burnt it in the book but this was used to clear Chris in the film. The storyline was all over the place and things that took place before the suicide were shown after this event. I'm sorry please avoid this film at all cost and read the book which was brilliant.

Having read the book recently when I saw that a film had already been made based on it I was extremely excited to watch it. However I was extremely disappointed. The book could have been made into an extremely heart felt film, but there was so much lacking. None of the major storyline from the book has been used in the film version. And I don't know how the director of this film thought that this book could be fitted into an hour and a half film. It felt more like a the end to a TV drama, that if you hadn't watched previous episodes you would not get it.

My sisters keeper is an extremely touching film. I can only hope that another director will see the poor attempt of the pact, and re make it into the movie that it deserves to be.

This film clearly displays megan's acting talents away from will and grace. The story is of 2 best friends/lovers and how they make a suicide pact and how it goes tragically wrong. It follows the concequences for both families who are ripped apart by the tragedy. Its a sad but good drama, the writing is very good. It does disappoint slightly at the end, it seems rather rushed. I wont spoil it though.

I must admit I have not read the book, but enjoyed the film. Contrary to the previous review, I felt Juliet Stevenson was excellent.

i really really enjoyed it! its so sad but a real eye-opener. to everyone who only knows megan mullally as karen from will & grace, this film shows just how talanted she is as she plays a difficult role. the only thing that ruined it was how bad juliette stevenson is at an american accent! i dont understand why she didnt just speak with an english accent because she sounded so awful!

i would reccomend that you see this movie.
