Hans Zimmer and Co should be commended on their efforts for the music from this mini series. The tracks are not the traditional Zimmer sound with bombastic action, instead this is a much more sombre sound, with the majority of tracks being slow paced and emotive. The main title theme "Honour", which is reprised several times, is both patriotic and tragic, setting the tone perfectly. The style of the music is perfectly suited to the picture, and as a separate listening experience. With Zimmer and co often being criticised for producing generic action music, this soundtrack shows they can produce some stunning slower pieces for orchestra. If you like this, you might also like Zimmer's score for The Thin Red Line, and Michael Kamen's score for Band of Brothers (the prequel series to The Pacific).

I have heard this soundtrack many times now and it keep's getting better everytime .
This Album is Top from the first track on to the last.
Allthough it is music for a War series, You don't have to expect many action filled tracks.
This is more suffering and heroic music.
If you expect Fast and action filled music then this is not your thing.
But i love it
but this is my opinion.

I'm not particularly a fan of Hans Zimmer, and I think more often than not he tends to produce predictable scores for the action movies he tends to work with - but this is a great soundtrack, managing to combine the same epic scale and accessibility Michael Kamen provided with the earlier Band Of Brothers score with the more interesting, haunting and occasionally restless aspects of Zimmer's own earlier work for The Thin Red Line. In fact,"Even The Trees Hate Us" will be particularly familiar for people who liked that particular soundtrack.

In short it's a great piece of work and sits on its own merits separate from the TV series. For anyone who loved the programme this makes a great companion piece.

Well I am not very good at reviewing products I love, such as this CD. After watching The Pacific series and hearing snippets of relaxing music I searched for this sound track and bought it straight away. Personally I love this music more than Band of Brothers due to the fact that there a more songs but they seem to sink in more. If I am stressed after school this is the first thing I start to listen to, really relaxing music and also it reminds me of certain scenes from the series when the music is playing. So if you liked The Pacific and the music then don't hesitate to buy it!

if you liked the miniseries, then you will love this CD. i brought this for my mother because she loved the opening music to the pacific, but i ended up buying my own copy, after watching the miniseries this, CD brings it all back, even though the miniseries covers a war that happened over 60 years ago, you will find yourself thinking about the Soldier's and there loved ones which are shown at the end of episode 10, the loss of those who died and those who's lifes were never the same again, this could be any war as it is all about the human spirit, the sad loss of life and the hardship that many have to go through when loved ones are taken away from them because of circumstances beyond there control. we all need to move on in life but if you ever want to sit down and remember those who have had this luxury taken from them then this sound track is beautifully made.

I'm a big fan of the Band Of Brothers and The Pacific soundtracks, Hanz Zimmer is just pure genius for really moving the listener into a world of emotions and sombre thoughts, a truly enjoyable moving experience!
