This book is good for what we were doing which was sailing from USA to Australia.
It is good around the South Sea Islands with lots of tips for general cruising in the area and specific advice with regard to anchorages etc

A very nice coffee table book, but useful too 8 Aug 2011

Very enjoyable read. I want to sail from Hawaii to Kentucky, but my wife says a 30 foot boat is not big enough. Well, book doesn't answer the question what is the smallest, safe craft to circumnavigate, but it does answer a lot. Crossing the Panama Canal is one question is does answer. The seasonal ocean currents pages are very helpful. Here in Hawaii we have tradewinds that change seasonally. Hence the North shore winter big wave surfing, and the moderate waves on the South shore in the summer. Now put it on Kindle, I don't want to carry books.
