    A TRULY SINISTER TALE 31 Dec 2007
    Format:Paperback
The monkey`s paw is one of the most sinister and unforgettable tales ever written which sticks in the memory long after reading - a horror story which somehow manages to make the unbelievable believable - make sure the young ones don`t read it!

I am a student of English in Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE. The story's event start when the father's friend who was solder in India came back home with a magic monkey's paw. It can grant three wishes, but it can't bring happiness, so the sadness comes to a happy house in terrible ways. For example when the father wishes that he gets thirty thousand dollars, but the only son died in a horrible way and his indemnity was the amount wanted!

Chance or reality 18 Oct 2001

The book was great and the drama was even better. I could just imagine myself there with Mrs. White beating on the door anxious for her son to return from the grave. But was it just their vivid imagination or did they really hear someone knocking on the door? It is up to the reader to figure that out. If you haven't read the book and think these reviews will help you do a report I advise you to read it. It's not half as bad as you may think. READ IT!!!!!

Be Careful What You Wish For 31 Mar 2000
    By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
I had always heard that this short story by W.W.Jacobs was one of the great classic Victorian ghost stories. I was recently reminded of it when Stephen King mentioned it in his new e-book, "Riding the Bullet". So, alas! - I finally got my hands on it, and it is indeed worthy of it's acclaim. A visitor brings a magickal talisman - a monkey's paw - to his hosts' home; the macabre dismembered simian apendage is charmed with the ability to grant wishes. But the visitor who leaves the object with his hosts, also leaves their premises with a strong warning of the outcome of the things wished for.
