I wanted to buy a poetry book for a friend's unwell child who loves poetry and, having 'looked inside' this one on Amazon, I was impressed, and ordered a second copy at the same time for my small granddaughter. I was even more impressed when the book arrived - it was bigger than I'd imagined, and with a wide range of poems both classical and modern to suit any mood - some I remember with affection from my schooldays, many are new to me, but all are such a pleasure to read that I've added the book to my own wish list.
This is an excellent collection of children's poetry. It is a great reading. Also it introduces kids to proper poetry. One can use it to build their understanding for this type of writing.

This is an easy book to follow and excellent if your child is just getting started with poetry at school. I brought this for my 9 year old son and he enjoys reading the poems and finds them fun and informative.He has even taken it into school when they have had a lesson on poetry which shows he is impressed!
