5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! Sequel Sequel! 20 Feb 2012
By Neza
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm still basking in the aftermath glow of reading this book. The author draws you into this vivid world which keeps you enthralled. I didn't want to put it down and didn't want it to finish either. And i do love a practical heroine (makes you feel sm1 might write about you too)!I might start a petition for a sequel. The ending is perfectly set for the start of another adventure. A must read!
I'm going to wait a few more weeks to make the most of this glow before i read her 'The Altercation of Vira'!

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable. 28 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am ashamed to say I actually recieved this a long time ago. My request pile didn't seem to shrink and I stopped reading my e-books for a while. So sorry for the delay, especially as it was a good book and easy to read. In the end I read this in about 5 hours total.
This is the story of Jo, she is awkward and a bit of an outcast. She works doing odd jobs around the palace, only really tolerated because of her mother and brothers. Then on the night of the royal ball she finds a glass slipper left on the side of the road along with a pumpkin. She then has to discover who the owner of the slipper is and is led back to the castle and the new Princess - Ella. But the journey doesn't end there, Jo must go o a mission filled with magic and mystery to return both slippers to their original owner.
On her journey she is accompanied by her brother Ron and they meet a stranger on the road who becomes their companion, Locke, but he's not all he seems either.
I liked Ron, he was quiet, thoughtful yet strong and protective. Locke was mysterious and quite interesting, probably my favourite character. Jo is very headstrong and actually prone to whining, she would ask for help then not want to listen to what anyone had to say. She annoyed me in places, but I didn't find myself disliking her much, just wish I could reach through and shake her a bit sometimes.
It was a good twist on the idea of Cinderella and I liked the fresh angle. Ella herself doesn't feature much but the story is still tied to her and brings the fairytale to life from this new angle.
The pace is fairly fast paced, it kept me turning pages and wanting to know more, there was a good mix of description and action and turning of events.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good story 14 Feb 2012
By Pilin
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A great book with a fast-paced plot, lots of action and characters one can relate with. Once started, it was quite hard to put down. Although it was expected that good would triumph over evil, the journey itself was an interesting read with surprising turns of events as the adventure unfolded. Would definitely read the sequel if one was written.

I started the book feeling pretty confident that there was nothing that could surprise me, I thought it would be all fluffy and cute! Then gbam!! All the twists and drama started coming and I was hooked right till the end! It was edgy and a good few nail biters thrown in as well! The end is just begging for a sequel!!! I can't wait!!! 5.0 out of 5 stars The Other Slipper: Review 29 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
An Original twist on the classic Cinder-Ella fairytale.
What goes on after "Happily Ever After"?
How would a royal wedding between a Prince & the beautiful bride he never knew existed till one fateful magical night, affect YOUR life if you lived in the same kingdom?
The story paints a fuller picture of that world, that let's you know what else is going on besides a Fairy God-Mother making some lucky orphan's dreams come true; and it doesn't always involve sugar & sprinkles.
