I have read a number of books on the Kennedys to acquire a balanced picture of the family, particularly of Robert, Jack and Jackie. This book is however the only book available on Ethel Kennedy as far as I am aware. Although most authors have an opinion either for or against the subject of their writing, I can only say that the author of this book had a grudge against Mrs Kennedy. I found it very difficult to find anything nice the author said about Mrs Kennedy, which colours your opinion more of the author than the subject. Surely a writer has to like the person he is writing about a little bit, otherwise what is the motive behind writing the book? The sources in the book are ex-staff of the Robert Kennedys. Draw your own conclusions from that fact. Quite frankly if Ethel Kennedy is as the author portrays I am sure that the Robert Kennedy I have read about would not have married her let alone had eleven children with her. How on earth the author knew such personal information such as why Ethel Kennedy liked being pregnant goodness only knows. Not a book I would particularly recommend.

Read this book many years ago from the Library and enjoyed it very much. Because I now own a large amount of books relating to

the Kenndys I decided to buy it, and have once again enjoyed reading about Ethel Kennedy who was so loyal to her husband, and

in a interview with her this year was still unable to talk about his assassination.

I LOVED THIS BOOK ,I LOVE BIOGRAPHIES ,ESPECIALLY POLITICAL ONES,THIS BOOK WAS UNPUTDOWNABLE , I STAYED UP QUITE LATE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I WAS SO ENGROSSED IN IT ,ETHEL KENNEDY IS NOT MUCH SPOKEN ABOUT COMPARED TO THE OTHER KENNEDIES BUT SHE IS EVERY BIT AS INTERESTING IN HER OWN RIGHT AS THE REST OF THE FAMILY

This is a great book about the Skakel and Kennedy
families. The Skakel's were far wealthier and a much more livelier and crazy family than the Kennedy clan. One gets the feeling you would have more fun and laughs hanging out with a Skakel than a Kennedy. Provides insights to people who believe
they do not have to follow the rules of the rest of society in this country.
