Sabine is a female werewolf living as a human. While still following most werewolf traditions, she's also resentful of the mating routine. Sabine wants romance and dating beyond a first date. In that respect, Sabine is truly jealous of the human females.
Roman is a male werewolf who has suffered through months of dreams of his mate while sleeping. Every six weeks, when she'd cycle he'd become unbearable to be around. During these times, Roman would change into wolf form and roam the forest until her cycle ended.
Custom dictates that female werewolves have to give each male at least one chance to see if she's his mate. Of course, Sabine is only asked out when she's coming into season and there's never a second date because the chemistry is never right. No male wants to waste his time dating or getting to know her when he knows she isn't his mate. Sabine is on a date with John and they're having a great time even though they both know that they're not mates. She would have been stunned to know that her true mate is nearby and he is aware of her. When she excuses herself from her date for a moment, Roman seizes the opportunity to warn the other man off, but allows him finish the date. During the night, Sabine has a very realistic erotic dream. Over the past year, she's had these images but this is the first time she's seen any of the man's features, this time she's seen his eyes. The following morning, Roman pounds on John's door wanting to know more about his mate and arranges to have John introduce them. Sabine instantly gets a mixed reaction to Roman's presence. It isn't until she sees his eyes that she realizes that he's the man from her dreams. Custom dictates that she can't refuse him if he asks her out, but she can put him off, and she does . . . for two weeks. She'll be out of cycle then and he'll have to court her, just like a human would. She's blissfully unaware that her dreams however, are connected to Roman and he shares each of the fantasies, in many ways controlling them. Sabine's desire for a courtship will only keep Roman from claiming her for a little while. He has no intention of letting his other half get away from him.
THE OTHER HALF is a fun-filled, fast-paced story that will have the reader eagerly turning pages to find out which of the characters will win in their own special battle of the mating game. Sabine has lost or forgotten many of her werewolf abilities and Roman is far more feral than human. Jayelle Drewry does a wonderful job giving both characters attributes that will not only delight the reader but will have you cheering them in their endeavors to achieve their goals. Of course, you also hope they act on those dreams they share. They're so wonderfully hot and imaginative they practically sizzle the pages.
